Customer: “The vehicle is perfect Julie, but I have to keep my payments under $550.”
Salesperson: “I understand that you need to be under $550 Steve and the car itself is already there. Let me show you what I mean. (Write this down) The car itself is $20,000 that is a $440 payment. The Navigation System that you said you could not live without is $3000 which is a $66 payment. The additional safety features that your wife is looking for is $2500, that is a $55 payment. Then there is the Entertainment System for the kinds, that is a $2000 upgrade, a $44 payment. Oh, and let’s not forget about the government, they need to get theirs, which is $2000 and a $44 payment. The grand total comes to the $649 payment. As I see it, you have four option: One, remove all of the options and just get the car and pay the taxes and your payment will be $484. Two, move down a model, get all of the extras you want and keep your payments under the $550. Three, pay cash for the extras and your payment will be the $484. Or four, keep your cash, get all the equipment that you want in the vehicle that you want and pay the extra $4 per day. If I were in your shoes, I would go with the fourth option. Which one works best for you?”
Customer: “When you break it down, I agree the $4 a day plan sounds best.”
Salesperson: “Excellent, I will get your new ______ ready for immediate delivery.”
