Customer: “Julie, the balance with my trade-in is just too high.”
Salesperson: “Steve, I hear you that the balance is too high. The biggest reason for this is the fact that you owe too much on your current vehicle. Tell me this, do you have to trade it in in order to buy the ______?”
Customer: “Yes I do, I can’t afford two car payments.”
Salesperson: “That makes sense. So you know you need to trade in your vehicle, you know you owe more than what it is worth, and you know you need the new ______. So, I suggest you either put some more cash down to lower the balance or just pay a little extra a month and pay down the balance over time? Which would you prefer?”
Customer: “I will just pay it down over time.”
Salesperson: “Perfect. I will get the paperwork started.”
